Privacy policy

Fleetaholics keeps track of what's due on your vehicles and emails you before it is. This page explains what we store to do that, who helps us run it, and what you can ask us to do with your data.

The short version

Who we are

Fleetaholics is run by Brian Cooney, an individual, who is the data controller for the personal data described here. For anything about your data, email privacy@fleetaholics.com.

What we store

Your account

What you add

Photos, receipts and documents are private: only you can see them while signed in. Upload only what you want to keep to hand, and never ID documents like a passport or driving licence: we don't need them.

Technical logs

When you use the app, our server logs each request: your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. We use these logs only to keep the service secure and fix problems, including limiting repeated sign-in attempts, and delete them automatically after 5 days.

Cookies and similar

This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Its fonts are served from our own site, not Google. The app stores a sign-in token in your browser's local storage so you stay signed in. That's strictly necessary for the app to work, so it doesn't need your consent. Signing out removes it.

Why we use it

We don't send marketing emails, and we don't make automated decisions about you.

Who helps us run it

These companies process data for us under data processing agreements. They may only use it to provide their service to us.

Where data goes outside the UK or EEA, as with Resend and Cloudflare, it's protected by the UK and EU adequacy arrangements for the US (the Data Privacy Framework) or by standard contractual clauses.

We'll only share your data with anyone else if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Your rights

Under data protection law (the UK GDPR, and the EU GDPR where it applies) you can ask us to:

Email privacy@fleetaholics.com from the address on your account. We'll reply within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office atico.org.uk, or to the data protection authority where you live. We'd appreciate the chance to sort it out first.

Children

Fleetaholics isn't for children under 13, and we don't knowingly store their data.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use data you've already given us, we'll email you first.
